Influencing policy and practice
Working with the University of Exeter’s RKT team, we engaged industry and policymakers in research by the Centre for Energy and the Environment. The aim of this EPSRC Pathways to Impact project was to influence the building industry’s sustainability practices and inform the government’s climate change adaptation policy.
Enhancing collaboration with industry
We were tasked with communicating the capabilities of a complex bioimaging technique under development at the University of Exeter’s School of Physics to the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and chemicals sectors. Our goal was to establish significant research collaborations and publicise the university’s laboratory facilities.
Maximising impact with policymakers
The Institute of International and European Affairs, a Dublin-based think tank, presented us with a comprehensive 83-page ‘greenprint’ on transforming the energy efficiency of 1.2 million homes in Ireland. Our role was to create engaging policy summaries and convey the research to media and government figures for maximum impact.
Establishing a global profile
We provide continual support to the School of Contemporary Chinese Studies in its bid to become Europe’s leading centre of research, education and policy analysis on contemporary China. We look to secure media coverage for SCCS academics in the international media and Chinese-language publications.
Creating value from esoteric research
As part of our ongoing work for Nottingham University Business School we saw potential in what at first glance appeared obscure research into the history of the British brewing industry. Recognising that Britain’s brewers could serve as role models for a country battling recession, we set out to achieve widespread media coverage.
